Anatomy of a Training Plan
I will keep this post brief and complete another post shortly with a bit more meat to it thanks to an incredible trip to San Francisco and Newport Beach California. However for those who are curious (and I have had a few people ask me) what my training plan looks like now below is my plan in its current state. I don't have the interval specifics listed out, nor the swim workouts in their entirety, but it does give a good breakdown of how often and for how long I am currently training on a weekly basis. One little disclaimer, I have been building up to this point, and I would not have attempted this without a base such as I have now. Otherwise you would die the first workout.
For those that are not familiar with the term "Brick" its training/ triathlete lingo for back to back workouts. So all the days listed as "BRICK" mean I do both activities back to back. This is definitely not easy, and I have been really working to tweak my fueling habits to accomodate my workouts without putting on unwanted weight (more on that later as well) So yes...this is a bit intense (or so I have been told hehe) but its an idea of what it is that I do for those that don't see my facebook posts of my workouts or have no idea why I am doing crazy things such as 1 hour swimming then 1 hour biking.
Also, credit where credit is due, this is a training plan from "The Time Crunched Triathlete" by Carmichael Training Systems.
